When practicing step breathing, we inhale or exhale in short steps. Every step is separated by a very short pause in breathing. we can either step up during the inhale or step down during the exhale.
We can either use the nose for both inhaling and exhaling or use the nose for inhaling and the mouth for exhaling.
Different rhythm can be implemented. When we step-exhale from the mouth in a specific rhythm, it sounds a bit like the sound of a laughing person.
