Conscience Breathing

Conscience Breathing

There are two separate sets of nerves that control our breathing system. Our lungs are the only organs in the body that we have voluntary control over. When we are not aware of our breathing, our Autonomic Nerves System is in control and we breathe unconsciously. We can override the Autonomic Nerves System and make conscience decisions about the way we breathe.

The six main decisions that we can make about our breathing are:

1 nose or mouth breathing
2 operating muscles
3 amplitude of breathing
4 tempo of breathing
5 Inhale vs. exhale duration
6 holding our breath

There are other conscience breathing choices that we can make, which influences directly, the way we breath.

Position and shape of our tong
Shape of mouth opening
Nostril dilation
Eyes (crossing)
